As The July continues to expand internationally, we are looking for an International HR Specialist, preferable with HR experience in Hospitality in various European countries, who gets excited to develop and implement our international HR strategy. Our international growth will kick off with the opening of The July London Victoria in June 2025 and in 2026 we will open hotels in Lisbon & Dublin. If you have experience in these regions then we are looking for you! This role will be based in Amsterdam as our Headquarter is located in one of our hotels in Amsterdam.

The job
The July is in an exciting period of growth which includes acquiring, developing and opening hotels internationally. Therefore the new International HR Specialist will take lead on projects for our international rollout and start up employment including researching and implementing competitive compensation & benefits, payroll, insurances and translating our HR guides in compliance with local regulations and alignment with global standards.
Besides the lead of these projects you will be developing activities and be part of projects in which HR supports the growth ambition of the organization, such as employer branding, strategic personnel planning, international employership, attractive employment conditions and improving engagement. Especially during your first year, you will actively engage in the Dutch HR operations to gain a comprehensive understanding of our systems, procedures and company culture and values.
As an International HR Specialist you provide expert guidance and support on complex HR matters and are a sparring partner for our managers within our head office and for local HR Managers. You are part of our HR team, which currently consists of an HR Director, an HR Business Partner, our Talent Acquisition Specialists, an HR intern and an UK HR Manager as of mid January 2025. You will report directly to the HR Director.

As an International HR Specialist you are people driven and can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. In addition, our ideal colleague has:
At least 4 - 6 years of relevant work experience, ideally in the hospitality industry in relevant European countries
In-depth knowledge of global HR practices, compensation & benefits, employment laws and regulations, with experience in international environments
Experience in a fast growing organization is a plus
An entrepreneurial mindset: you act proactively and think in terms of possibilities
Fluency in English; knowledge of Dutch and additional languages is advantageous
Strong analytical and communications skills to present insights and recommendations effectively.
Positive and approachable personality
Available 32 - 40 hours, based in Amsterdam or surroundings
