About the role
As Area Business Manager you will lead a specialist team whose key responsibilities include the end-to-end preparation of lending submissions and timely responses to client requests. You will work closely with the Area Manager Agribusiness who leads the team of Agribusiness Managers and together you will jointly run and be responsible for operations and portfolios across the area.
As a leader you will be able to develop, coach and generally get the best out of a team. You will critically evaluate operations and related activities to ensure consistency, quality and best practice. Communication will need to be a strength, as you will be a key internal business contact for the area in relation to any business, service or fulfilment matters.
On a day-to-day basis you will support the team through the careful management of resources and be responsible for monitoring and oversight of workflow across the area. You will be a problem-solver and ready for any challenges that may come your way.
It would be beneficial to understand the basics of rural finance or lending so you can support the team to critically assess a business's financial position and generate quality lending submissions, but this is not essential for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Co-ordinate and manage the workflow for all MAC, Agribusiness Analysts and Administration Assistant within the Area.
- Lead, motivate, coach and proactively manage an effective and engaged Service and Fulfilment Team including accountability for development plans and training.
- Proactively manage the performance of the employees in the team.
- Critically evaluate operations and activities to ensure consistency, quality and the implementation of best practice.
- Drive a continuous improvement philosophy and environment.
- Promote the desired risk culture and maintain strong relationships with all lines of defence with primary responsibility held within the area for reporting, monitoring and management of local business risks.
- Accountable for minimising the number of Credit/Operational reworks, operational incidents and overdue audit items.
About you
Do you have experience in leadership? Are you energetic and motivated? We are seeking a strong leader, who has 3+ years experience within banking, finance or agriculture as a Finance Manager, Team Leader or similar.
Ideally you will have a strong affiliation with - and a thorough understanding of - the rural sector and its clients, with the ability to bring the best out of their team. You'll be an excellent fit for our Country Banking Agricultural team if you have sound commercial acuity and a strong customer-centric approach.
