To spearhead this ambitious initiative, we are actively seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as the Head of Corporate Finance.
As the Head of Corporate Finance, you will lead a team responsible for originating and executing mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and capital structuring assignments for clients and prospects of ABN AMRO Belgium. You will work closely with bankers for Private Wealth Management and Corporate & Institutional Clients (CIC), with the support from the Sector Advisory and Corporate Finance teams located in Amsterdam.
You will be a member of the Management Team of ABN AMRO Corporate Banking Belgium, jointly responsible for formulating, executing, and maintaining the strategy of Corporate Banking and CIC. While the main team is located in Antwerp and the focus is on clients and prospects of ABN AMRO Belgium, you will be expected to provide corporate finance services across North-West Europe.
Your responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership. Formulate and execute the commercial strategy for Corporate Finance Belgium in alignment with the bank's objectives.
- Client Relationship Management. Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, acting as a trusted advisor and identifying new business opportunities.
- Deal Execution. Lead and oversee the execution of complex financial transactions including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital structuring, and other financial advisory services.
- Financial Performance. Drive sustainable revenue growth and profitability for the Corporate Finance division.
- Team Leadership and Development. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Risk Management and Compliance. Ensure all transactions comply with internal and external regulations, managing risks appropriately and maintaining a robust risk management framework.
- Product and Business Development. Create and implement innovative financial products and services, and develop packaging and pricing strategies to enhance the bank's competitive edge.
- Market Presence. Represent ABN AMRO in the market, enhancing the bank's reputation and visibility through active participation in industry events and networks.
- Cross-Selling and Collaboration. Identify and execute on cross-sell and deep-sell opportunities by collaborating closely with other product and client units of ABN AMRO.

- Experience. Minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience in Corporate Finance, Corporate Development, Strategy Consulting and/ or Private Equity, including several years in a managerial role with a proven track record.
- Language. You are fluent in both Dutch and English, with a strong preference for proficiency in French as well.
- Industry Recognition. Highly visible profile and well-known in the Corporate Finance community, with a strong professional network.
- Market Presence. Ability to operate as a face in the market, representing the bank effectively.
- Analytical Skills. Proficient in deal analysis, negotiation, and execution, with the ability to make effective decisions through thorough information analysis.
- Technical Knowledge. Extensive knowledge of accounting concepts, corporate finance, and experience managing complex M&A processes throughout the entire life-cycle.
- Banking Expertise. Strong experience in Corporate Banking/Finance products and activities, with a global view on financial industry developments and their impact on the bank.
- Personal Skills. Highly motivated, strong team player with credibility, and the ability to influence others. Self-reliant with strong execution power.
- Leadership and Communication. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills. Proven international mindset and ability to work in a matrix-structure.
- Regulatory Knowledge. Good understanding of regulatory principles, finance, risk, and compliance topics, with the ability to manage multi-dimensional relationships across the organization.
- Innovation and Adaptability. Continuously strives for innovation in client value propositions, proactively responds to changes, and balances short-term priorities with long-term goals.
