The team
You will be part of the Data & Regulatory team. The team is responsible for providing relevant, high quality business information as a single source of truth to various internal stakeholders, ING and regulators to enable data-driven decision making and to support efficient and effective internal business processes.
The team consists of Dev- and Ops engineers, a Customer Journey Expert, helped by a Product Owner.
Roles and responsibilities
As an Ops Engineer, you will collaborate closely with other Ops and Dev Engineers to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of our platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Platform Management: Configure and maintain core backend applications (Tableau, Denodo, Grafana) adhering to SRE principles.
- Infrastructure and Networking: Maintain and optimize the underlying infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems, to support the platform's performance and scalability.
- Incident Response: Proactively identify, investigate, and resolve platform incidents to minimize disruptions.
- DevOps: Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps to streamline deployments and improve efficiency.
- Automation: Identify and implement automation opportunities across testing, performance, security, deployments, and monitoring processes.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure adherence to IT risk and security controls to protect system integrity.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Ops Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate is a passionate problem-solver with a strong technical foundation and a collaborative spirit.
Your education, experience and background:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as an Operations Engineer
- Strong understanding of IT risk and security concepts
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.

- High standard of work (Clean coding)
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Advanced proficiency in:
- CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred)

- Monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus)
Nice to haves:
- Experience with Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence
- Experience in PowerShell scripting
- Knowledge of enterprise scheduling solutions (Like UAC)
- Knowledge of database technologies (SQL Server, Always On, PL/SQL)
