Increase your knowledge of risk management and modelling, you continuously improve predictive models used for balance sheet management, while translating and incorporating ever changing regulations into them. Your models secure compliance and meet demands of our changing environment. An example? The consequences of the prolonged low interest rates on the behaviour of our clients' savings accounts. Your models enable optimal management and hedging of the interest rate risk, credit spread risk and liquidity risk position of the bank.
About the job
As an ALM Modeller you have a unique view of the activities of de Volksbank. You have very diverse contacts within the bank, including Balance Sheet Management, Financial Markets, and Model Validation. In this position you will act as a quantitative analyst and data scientist to develop behavioral models used for interest rate, credit spread and liquidity risk management from start to finish.You'll be involved in every step of the model lifecycle, from development and implemenation, to reviewing and supporting the validation of market risk models. Metrics and methods used include economic value, base point valuation, funds transfer pricing and earnings at risk. To secure validation and implementation, you are in close collaboration with multiple stakeholders, such as the model owner, users, data owners and management.
Working in an agile team dedicated to ALM models, you're responsible for more than modelling. You'll play an active role in translating the requirements of the model owner into creative solutions. While supporting the Product Owner in achieving the team's mission. At de Volksbank, you continue to evolve and develop your own full potential, moving to other teams and roles depending on your ambitions and interests.
About the Modelling department
You will join the ALM Modelling team within the Balance Sheet Management department, working in a team of 10-20 colleagues dedicated to model development and implementation. You are in connection with other model development teams that are responsible for Regulatory Capital modelling and IFRS modelling, all quantitative professionals sharing a drive to continuously improve our predictive risk models. Your competences

As medior you help the junior team members to contribute to the team goals.You als have:
- A Master's degree or PhD in econometrics, mathematics, physics or similar.
- At least three years' experience of working in a relevant field such as quantitative financial modelling, model development, and/or model validation.
- Programming skills and experience in analysing large data sets (experience with MATLAB and Python is particularly valuable).
- A strong drive to gain more expertise in model development and banking regulations.
- An excellent command of English and ability and drive to work in a diverse, international team of professionals.

The gross annual salary for this position is between € 57.336 and € 88.210 (job scale 10) based on 36 hours work week (including 13th month and holiday allowance).In addition, you can count on:
- 36-hour work week, for example 4x9, or 5x8/4x8, based on your preferences;
- An individual choice budget (IKB), you can choose when you receive your vacation allowance and thirteenth month;
- Good collective pension plan, with a Volksbank contribution of 22.5% of the salary;
