About the role and team
We are looking for a Trust & Safety Operations Project Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for building our detection logics to identify and mitigate Trust and Safety risks to the Catawiki platform, and conducting daily reviews and investigations to protect our users and prevent fraud and abuse on Catawiki. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with proficiency in building queries to identify patterns of fraud and abuse, good analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, scale-up environment.
What you’ll do
- Review, investigate and respond to known and reported Trust and Safety violations on Catawiki that are associated with undesirable user behaviour, objectionable interactions, and fraudulent transactions - this would constitute 20% of the role
- Develop, implement, and assess new detection queries to identify emerging patterns of fraud and abuse for review and enforcement by the team. This includes expanding the scope of detection coverage for all Trust and Safety violations in Catawiki.
- Refine and improve precision and recall of existing detection queries to drive operational efficiency and increase accuracy of fraud and abuse detection.
- Implement immediate short-term risk prevention measures based on established guidelines and protocols.
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement iterative risk detection systems to identify and monitor Trust and Safety violations. This includes teams such as Security, Product, Data Science, Commercial business units, Legal and Customer Experience.
- Analyse data independently to identify Trust and Safety violations trends, patterns and anomalies.
- Provide well-structured insights and analysis of Trust and Safety violations and communicate them to the relevant stakeholders.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in the Trust and Safety industry.
Who you are
- 3+ years of experience in Trust and Safety, Fraud Prevention, Risk Management, or a related field. We also welcome applications from data and business analysts who have a strong interest to dive deep into the field of Trust and Safety and are willing to handle daily investigations and reviews too.
- Experience with SQL and writing queries is a must. Proficiency in BigQuery and LookerStudio and Python is a plus.
- Good knowledge of Trust and Safety abuse prevention
- Excellent knowledge of Google Suite
- Experience in process creation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment
- Resilient and able to handle high-pressure situations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in the online auction or e-commerce industry is a plus

Our Offices and Way of Working
Our vibrant offices in Amsterdam, Paris and Lisbon are designed to inspire and connect. Most Catawikians are within commuting distance of one of our offices and enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work model. This means we typically ask you to be in the office 2 out of 5 days, roughly 40% of your working time, to collaborate and connect with your colleagues. Of course, if the job description specifies that the role is 100% remote—such as for certain expert or sales positions—then that arrangement will apply.
