Getting started! This is what you'll doAs a Lead Engineer, you ensure your teams are successful, creating a culture of openness and collaboration where everyone feels safe to learn and grow. You are involved in the development of your team members by regularly conducting 1-on-1 conversations and providing constructive feedback. You ensure a customer-oriented approach, making sure the work of the teams serves the customer, motivating the team to think from the customer's and/or store's needs, and always seeking the best technical solutions. You give room for initiative and encourage boldness in coming up with innovative solutions.
Besides coaching, you are also responsible for recruiting the right people and monitoring the quality and progress of projects, ensuring your teams take full responsibility for their implementations. "You build it, you run it, you own it!" So, as a Lead Engineer, you are also responsible for the run, licenses, and infrastructure costs.
Your workday as a Lead Engineer at Jumbo:09:00 - 09:30 Attend standups of your teams to stay informed and offer help where needed.
10:00 - 11:00 Interview potential new developers for your team.
11:00 - 12:00 Discuss extending an existing software contract.
13:00 - 14:00 Refinement session with one of your teams.
14:00 - 15:00 Tech Board review for selecting a new software package or module.
The teams you will lead are part of the Channel & Support unit. The Channel & Support unit is responsible for delivering smart, simple, and reliable products for the supply chain, stores, and support. Within your teams, the focus is on improving and optimizing Customer Service and overseeing and improving the HR environment within Jumbo. Besides the team, you also work closely with other stakeholders within these two subdomains. All this from Jumbo's headquarters in Veghel.

- At least 10 years of experience in a coaching, mentoring role within a technical environment.
- Technical background, with several years of experience within IT, preferably within software development.
- Experience in communication at all levels within a company.
- Experience with HR responsibilities for your teams, including recruitment and the growth and development of the people in your team through coaching and constructive feedback.

- A gross salary between €5.500 - €7.100 per month (based on 40 hours).
- An annual bonus of max 10% of your annual salary, based on organizational goals.
- 30 days of paid holiday (with the opportunity to buy or sell days of paid holiday) and 8% holiday allowance. You build up a pension through participation in the Pension Fund for the Food Industry.
- A(n) (electric) lease car. We like to work together in the office, but you can also work partly from home.
