For the Digital Automation Center (DAC), DHL Express is looking for a motivated and results-oriented Senior Specialist Digital Automation.
About the Digital Automation Center
The Digital Automation Center (DAC) based in Maastricht is the Express Global RPA and innovation center, from which high-quality and complex digital services are provided for various DHL business units globally and cross functional. Besides RPA also other digital technologies are being used (GenAI, ML, NLP, API, Smart OCR, image processing and others. DAC has also teams respectively based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and San Jose, Costa Rica.
Working within DAC is quite exciting as we are active within all functional areas (such as Customer Service, Customs, Network Operations, etc.) within the DHL Express organization and fully focused on digitalization and automation.
How will you contribute to the success of DHL?
As a team builder and strategic thinker, you will manage, plan, and scope international process automation projects and programs using digital technologies such as RPA, Smart OCR, PowerApps, and GenAI. You will take responsibility for people, project management, and performance, leveraging your analytical and conceptual capabilities to tackle complex problems related to process automation solutions. Your work will involve developing new strategies and concepts, defining innovative business models, and deploying complex applications and processes globally. As a part of the RPA team, you will interact daily with RPA developers, business analysts and data scientists, dedicating a significant portion of your time in setting up and executing a combined GenAI/RPA initiative for the finance function.
Your key activities will include managing multiple process automation projects and stakeholders across various DHL entities and functions worldwide. You will maintain regular communication with stakeholders to provide project status updates, obtain feedback at critical milestones, and ensure customer expectations are met. You will translate project requirements into objectives and tasks, develop detailed project plans, schedules, estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
Additionally, you will oversee scope changes, ensure acceptance criteria are met, and conduct systematic idea generation. You will define the benefits that align with strategic objectives, drive testing and acceptance of project results, and partner with stakeholders and vendors to assemble and motivate project teams.
Mentoring and coaching RPA developers and project members, driving teams and customers towards decisions, establishing cross-functional alliances, and building partnerships to gather and communicate customer and business requirements effectively will also be part of your role.
Do you have what it takes?
We are looking for a candidate with at least 5+ years of experience leading successful large-scale projects and programs across multiple regions. You have proven ability to lead and manage technical and business specialists within high-performing, multicultural project teams (indirect reports).
You should be an analytical thinker and a team player with a can-do attitude, continuously learning mindset and be self-motivated. Strong presentation, interpersonal, and intercultural skills are essential, along with high proficiency in customer relationship and negotiation skills to define project scope, time, and quality requirements.
In previous experiences, you have demonstrated leadership in project processes and planning activities, effectively directing tasks to meet scheduled completion dates.
Other qualifications include:
- Knowledge of RPA, NLP, GenAI, PowerApps, and Smart OCR projects
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including "story-telling"
- Prince 2 Certification or equivalent(must-have)
