We are looking for an intern to strengthen the Modelling Tribe which is part of the COO Risk domain.
Your work environment
COO Risk sits right at the heart of the Bank's operations. We translate our rather complex banking business exposures into impact on risk weighted assets and provisions in line with the constantly changing business desires and the latest regulatory requirements. We also provide important insights in NFR and Compliance topics and cater for corresponding regulatory reporting needs. COO Risk delivers baseline and change activities for the Risk Organization with the purpose to drive our partners to maximize value in a safe & compliant environment. We play a critical role at ING and service all business lines, CROs and COOs of the Bank. COO Risk is committed to take explicit ownership of the end-to-end execution of regulatory transformation initiatives.
You will join as an intern in the Modelling tribe which consist of approx. 120 employees located in Amsterdam and Warsaw (Poland). The Modelling tribe is responsible in different steps in the end-to end model lifecycle for the implementation of credit risk models in a new state of the art tool. This is done according to the standards of the external local and central regulators and auditors meeting our minimum control requirements. We are dedicated, knowledgeable consultants/experts that advice and implement risk models for ING worldwide. We support our clients and improve their internal and external reporting. The credit risk models are core to the success of ING and are applied to determine the exposure measurement, capital adequacy and the management thereof.
Background and your activities
We are looking 2 interns for a period of 4-6 months who are eager to develop a career in Credit Risk and credit risk modelling. These are thesis internships and the topics are already shared with your university.The tentative start date of assignment is beginning of Feb'25. The deliverable of the assignment will be a thesis/report which helps solve the specific challenge(s) mentioned in the details of the thesis topic.

- You are communicative, accurate and able to work with challenging deadlines.
- You have affinity with data engineering, data analytics, experimentation and causal inference & operations management.
- You are a pioneer of the Orange Code and vou recognize yourself in the corresponding behaviour profile.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to write clear reports in English.
