Front Office Supervisor @ Via Amsterdam
In the role of Front Office Supervisor at Via Amsterdam you will join the dynamic team of our vibrant, high-capacity youth hotel with nearly 1,000 beds, known for our unique, culture-rich guest experience. As the Front Office Supervisor, you will play a key role in overseeing the daily operations of our front desk, ensuring that each guest has a memorable stay that reflects the unique DNA of Via. You'll lead a team dedicated to guest satisfaction, handling check-ins, check-outs, guest inquiries, and service requests with efficiency and enthusiasm. With a focus on smooth operations, guest interaction, and high-energy team motivation, you will work closely with management to implement service improvements, address feedback, and create an engaging, welcoming atmosphere.
A work day includes:
Work alongside the team operationally, especially on peak moments, assisting with check-in, check-out, answering guest queries etc.
Train new team members as well as update the team about changes in procedures, new products to upsell, events to highlight etc.
Ensure operational procedures and standards are followed up on.
Shift handover and team briefing.
Administrative tasks such as shift closing, stock count, accounting ledger etc.
Tracking reviews and ensuring feedback, both compliments as well as areas of improvement, are shared within the team.
Supporting the Front Office Manager in recruitment activities, such as interviewing candidates and assisting in onboarding of new team members.
You'll be a great fit if you bring a few of the below with you:
You possess great people skills. You know how to motivate people and enjoy sharing knowledge and teaching your team members new skills.
You thrive in a high paced environment, but also know how to use your time well during quiet(er) moments (e.g. You know how to balance supporting the team operationally with some of the more administrative aspects of the role)
Accuracy and eye for detail is important to you.
You love interacting with guests and your goal each day is to curate exceptional experiences for (y)our guests, during their stay in Amsterdam.
You have approximately a year of working experience in a similar role, or 2-3 years in the Front Office department.
You enjoy working with a young, dynamic and optimistic team.
Good working knowledge of Property Management Systems. We work with MEWS and it would be a benefit if you have worked with this system.
Fluent in English, both verbal and in writing. It would be great if you speak Dutch, but it is not a strong requirement.
