Job Overview/ Purpose:
The DCM Syndicate Operations & Data Specialist will report to the Head of DCM Syndicate, who also oversees Global Capital Markets Innovation and the Sustainable Capital Markets team. This role is pivotal in continuing the team's impressive growth trajectory, with operational excellence at its core and with specific focus on technological innovation, data utility, simplification, AI, and more. This role encompasses the core responsibilities of operational management of primary bond flow, Mifid analysis, transaction management, trade bookings, and systems/data management, affording the candidate financial markets products knowledge, plus specific focus on data and technology optimisation and implementation.
Context of Job:
The Markets division is the organizational umbrella housing all of Rabobank's financial markets related activities. Its core activities include money markets; FX trading; credit trading; commodity derivatives; interest rate and FX options; corporate and Fl sales; and Capital Markets. Its main purpose is to provide professional financial services to enable the Bank's clients to achieve their financial aims.
The DCM Syndicate Desk, based in London, is responsible for the execution and distribution of debt securities for all clients, spanning SSA/FI/Corp/ABS/MTNs and Rabobank's own issuance. It is responsible for pricing and executing all public market bond mandates that Rabobank secures across Euromarket currencies. As such the desk sits between DCM, their clients (issuers) and end investors in new issues (via Sales). The business unit and team has achieved exceptional growth in recent years now managing 300% historical volumes, wider product suite and market/currency and client coverage.
The DCM Syndicate Operations & Data Specialist will play a key role within the team in transaction management, (internal and external workflow, trade reporting, booking, regulatory reporting, systems management) business management for the department and in driving technological innovation and operational excellence.
The position is integral to the DCM Syndicate Team, based at the global hub (managing over EUR100bln in flow and ~EUR30-50bln of new financing ranging from multi billion global benchmarks to bespoke structured notes). The team manages the execution and distribution of debt securities (with stakeholder teams), for global clients across SSA, FIs, Corporates and for Rabobank Group.
The role demands an interest in Financial Markets, and core knowledge in programming, technology, data management, financial markets and desirable interest in ESG landscape, aligning with Rabobank's strategy for Sustainable Capital Markets.
The DCM Syndicate Operations & Data Specialist role will exhibit a high level of proficiency in relevant systems and capabilities, particularly in data management, and will possess the ability to conduct transaction management and its components at an exceptional performance level. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the primary bond flow operations, ensuring efficient transaction management and trade bookings.
- Drive technological innovation within the syndicate operations, leveraging data utility and AI.
- Conduct Mifid analysis and ensure 100% compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Simplify processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with the innovation team to develop and implement new solutions across global capital markets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Advanced degree or equivalent experience and relevant certifications in AI, data analytics, or digital innovation is a plus.
Experience:
- Experience in working with AI and analytics tools in a financial services context.
- Deep interest in financial markets, previous experience would be beneficial but not essential.
Knowledge:
- Good interest and awareness of financial markets and financial markets products.
- Strong awareness with AI technologies capability to lead the adoption and implementation within Capital Markets, wider organization.
- Expert data management skills in systems such as PowerBI, excel expert operator.
- Programming skills for enhanced operational performance.
- Awareness of Market Risk & Risk Management.
- Awareness of Regulatory Policies, or ability to learn adopt and deliver controls.
- Attention to detail and ability to work fast under pressure when it comes to administration around deal execution (e.g. Book reconciliation needs a fast response).
- Experience of communication across a matrix organization.

- Awareness of developments in Compliance-related matters in relation to Bond Syndicate.
