What you are going to do
The most exciting part of this job is de multi-scope role you will have. As an actuary you will contribute to the execution of the central Actuarial Function within NN Group, and coordination of Actuarial Function across business units. In addition, you are the advisor on actuarial matters to the business units and relevant NN Group stakeholders.
Your contributions to the group actuarial reporting are aimed to provide clear and actionable insights from the actuarial reports to the Group Chief Actuary and other group stakeholders, and you initiate process improvements to increase efficiency and automation.
The business units can also count on your clear advice on topics like Solvency II and IFRS17, models and assumptions, technical provisions, underwriting, reinsurance, ORSA, and more.
Our Actuarial Reporting and Oversight team focuses on:
- Coordination of Actuarial Function across NN Group, including Group opinions
- Strengthening the actuarial function/community within the Group, enabling best practice sharing
- Actuarial oversight of business units, focusing on reserving, underwriting and reinsurance practices in the units
- Actuarial reporting of new business and solvency ratio insights
- Ownership, maintenance, group-wide implementation and advisory role on actuarial policies and standards. (best estimate assumptions, market value of liabilities, Own Funds Movement Analysis, Operating Capital Generation, IFRS17 implementation, sustainability etc.)
- Actuarial advice on various (strategic) matters to business units and Group stakeholders

Who you are

- An academic bachelor's/master's degree in Econometrics, Actuarial Science, or other quantitative degree
- A minimum of 3 years of experience gained in life or non-life insurance and experience in actuarial valuation and/or reporting (with a focus on Solvency II and IFRS17)
- Strong analytical and numerical skills to challenge and explain Solvency II results and IFRS17 results
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with senior stakeholders and auditors
Your responsibilities:
- You will participate in the analysis, review and reporting of actuarial metrics, for internal and external purposes on a recurring basis
- You will design/create, maintain/update and advise/guide on actuarial reporting methods, methodologies, policies and standards
- You maintain/update the tools, reporting processes and requirements for actuarial metrics
- You contribute to the actuarial data-driven oversight of the NN Business Units
Who you will work with
You become part of our 8-person team, including a trainee. We are quite the international team with 4 different nationalities with wide range of actuarial experience.
We work in a hybrid way where we combine working in the office with working from home. We have a fixed day in the office to meet the colleagues in the team and other days in the office depend also on your cooperation with other colleagues within NN.
Our Actuarial Reporting and Oversight team is part of the Chief Actuary Office of NN Group. As member of this team you will contribute to execution of the Actuarial Function within NN Group. The Actuarial Function is mainly responsible for the technical provisions of NN Group across the different balance sheets and related metrics.
