What you do as a Director Advisory Group
As the Director of the Advisory Group (DAG) for Maritime & Renewables NL, you will lead, develop, and empower a dynamic team of around 175 highly skilled maritime and renewable energy professionals based primarily in the Netherlands. You will be supported by a management team of 7 Associate Directors, each responsible for teams of 20-30 staff across different market segments and disciplines.
Commercial success and continuous improvement
: Drive the commercial success of the Advisory Group by fostering co-creation with global clients and partners. This through our existing state-of-the-art services and expertise as well as through developing innovative (digital) solutions and new service portfolios. Generate focused growth in our key markets of Maritime and Renewable Energy by connecting teams within the Advisory Group and with other expertise centres in Europe and across the globe. Beyond, anticipating technology developments and market trends.Stakeholder management
: Coordinate effective lines of communication within and outside the Advisory Group to encourage and strengthen cooperation and help create a distinct identity for the Advisory Group.People management
: Cultivate an environment and culture where both individuals and the business can thrive. Develop the Advisory Group strategy as part of the overarching corporate and Business Line / Business Unit strategies and enable the Associate Directors to implement it successfully under your guidance and leadership.
You will report to the Business Unit Director (DBU) of the Business Unit Maritime & Renewables Europe and be a member of the Business Unit Management Team (MT). In this capacity, you will collaborate with the Directors of other 5 other Advisory Groups and Business Development Directors on the overall management, vision, and strategic priorities of the business unit.

The Maritime & Renewables NL Advisory Group is one of the largest advisory groups within the company, with over 175 staff collaborating on integrated projects focused on ports, waterways and coastal areas, from a maritime perspective as well as a renewable energy perspective such as offshore wind, hydrogen and alternative fuels. The team works globally for global and local clients on a broad range of projects in all stages of development, frequently partnering with our colleagues in overseas offices and local (strategic) partners.
What you bring
You are a natural leader with the ability to make informed decisions and effectively position, structure and develop the available capacity within the team. You are strategic, visionary, and capable of leading a diverse team to success. You are a self-starter with strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- MSc or BSc degree, preferably in fields related to maritime and/or renewables;
- Relevant experience in managing large teams and/or projects;
- 10 or more years experience in the maritime market (renewables is a plus);
- Fluent in English and Dutch;
- Able and willing to work in offices in Amersfoort, Nijmegen and Rotterdam, as well as to travel abroad from time to time.
