ING is hiring Senior Scala Engineer! You will be working in the Banking Technology Platform in a multi-disciplinary team, responsible for realizing the core platform of ING. Currently, the team is working on the Approval and Consent product used globally within ING. The mission is the Feature development and delivery of functionalities according to business/technical requirements, on time and in agreement with the squad and Product Owner
Main responsibilities:
- Full software lifecycle development (coding, testing, deployment, incident handling)
- Handle delivery - identify, manage, escalate delivery issues and risks.
- Continuously strive for improving both your technical and communication skills.
- Stimulate a culture of learning by doing (incremental).
- Stimulate a continuous delivery culture in terms of services and working conditions.
- Support the applications, you are working on, in production environment (part of the on-call support weekly shifts).
- Support for creating a friendly work environment based on respect, trust, and partnership values.
- Maintain the risk controls of your team's application(s) so that we comply with the industry standards.
Job Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Scala, Spring Boot applications
- Good knowledge in Functional Programming
- Experience with running & maintaining a RESTful microservice based application, built with Spring Boot 3.x.
- Experience in SQL / NoSQL Databases (Cassandra, Azure MSSQL, etc.)
- Experience with Cloud native applications.
- Common tools such as bash, Maven, SBT, git
- Docker and container orchestration platform (preferably OpenShift).
- Experience in Azure DevOps (pipelines, artifacts, etc.)
- Experience in Templating languages (thymeleaf, helm, etc.)
- Prometheus metrics and monitoring solution knowledge.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - ability to explain technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
Nice to have
- Experience with event driven architecture (such as Kafka).
- Experience with testing tools (such as Gatling, Postman, Cucumber, etc.)
- Experience in working with distributed teams.
- Experience with Elastic Search & Kibana is desired.
- Security protocols (SSL & TLS)
