YOUR ROLE
The Operations Supervisor our Finished Vehicle Logistics (FVL) facility in Minto plays a crucial role in supporting the Operations Manager with the efficient day-to-day operations and administration of the branch. This position ensures that the trucking fleet operates at maximum productivity to achieve established profit & loss and service KPI objectives. You'll manage compliance with CEVA's contractual obligations, and ensure the accurate and timely use of systems for vehicle tracking.
The Operations Supervisor is also responsible for driving risk management and quality standards, addressing transit damage claims, and fostering strong customer relationships to maintain service excellence and continuous improvement within the facility.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Specifically, you will:
- Assist with all operational and administrative activities within the branch to ensure compliance with CEVA's contractual obligations and service standards. This involves managing processes, chairing toolbox meetings, addressing issues, and implementing procedures to enhance operational and customer KPIs
- Provide data to support the Operations Manager in performance reporting, focusing on actions to improve cost per vehicle, utilisation, and reducing empty runs
- Support, mentor, coach, and develop branch team members to maintain high levels of safety (OHS&E compliance), accuracy, productivity, and performance. Drive continuous improvement through the Performance Management Review Process
- Ensure the effective real-time use of systems (FACTS, C-PoD, VCMS) to monitor vehicle movements and provide visibility to customers
- Oversee the timely completion of transit damage claims and non-conformance reporting, driving improvements and addressing root causes
- Liaise directly with customers or through direct reports to ensure customer service expectations are met. Develop and implement liaison and feedback processes to maintain high customer satisfaction
- Drive risk management, quality, and site accreditation (SCA) activities to achieve legislative and CEVA standards, ensuring a safe and compliant operating environment.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our ideal candidate has experience to supervisory level gained in a transport operations and/or fleet management related role together with:
- Availability to take calls and visit site outside regular hours, including occasional weekends
- Experience managing transport providers/carriers and/or subcontractors
- Knowledge of state metropolitan, rural areas, and major road routes within the State
- Intermediate ability in MS Office (especially Excel)
- Understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) legislation
- Sound communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
In addition to providing proof of work rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undergo a medical assessment and national police check.
