Job mission:
Throughout the last few year T&D has grown over 50% in FTE. This enormous growth is of course due to our successes, but it also brings some challenges. In this challenging organization with multiple stakeholders and different internal and external customers we need to enforce an organization that will focus change management while maintaining to perform in our current big projects (total 600 FTE). These changes are towards professional competence and people management to make sure we create creative system thinking in each competence group and to create a great place to work for our highly skilled engineers.
Your activities and responsibilities:
As a Mechanics Realization & Sustaining Group leader you strengthen our Development & Engineering team of about 450 FTE in Eindhoven, managed by group leaders. As Group Leader, you will be managing both the performance of the people in your team as well as the further development of the competence of systems engineering.
· Responsible for people management and career development activities including recruiting, onboarding, training, mentoring, coaching, and performance evaluations.
· Responsible for leading a group of ~20-35 engineers who support product development projects with systems engineering expertise in various aspects of Mechanics Realization & Sustaining.
· Work with all other engineering disciplines to ensure timely realization of competitive, serviceable products that keep the semiconductor industry moving forward.
· Responsible for resource allocation and working with Project Leaders to anticipate program staffing and skillset needs.
· Owner of the Mechanics Realization & Sustaining competence. Pro-actively drive further improvement of the competence in line with identified needs as laid down in our roadmaps in synchronization with the other competences and disciplines.
· Improve the way of working to support high quality and timely design deliverables. Build and facilitate roadmaps for the development of the group's competences.
· Teach, educate and/or facilitate growth of the professional expertise in Mechanics Realization & Sustaining competence and secure knowledge retention. Introduce and coach system thinking in engineers.
· Support the optimization of internal processes, including capacity allocations, systems engineering processes and workflows adjustments to enhance productivity
· Lead continuous improvement projects to further improve the quality and efficiency of the organization. Prioritize quality in all engineering processes and uphold high standards of operational excellence
Required skills:
We are looking for a technical and people-oriented manager with a hands-on mentality and the ability to shape the strategy and development of the organization.
- Proven experience and expertise in the field of Mechanics Realization & Sustaining, and its application in high-tech engineering industry
- Proven Mechanics Realization & Sustaining experience as an engineer on academic level;
Config management, regulatory / Safety, Standard components, Drafting + GD&T, Tooling, Transport & Packaging, Design for series, Design for Reliability and lifetime.
- Experience with design high-tech systems that involve accurate motion (nm positioning, high frequency ranges), vacuum technology, handling of fragile substrates in semiconductor, analytical, scientific equipment application fields
- Track record in leading role (team leader, system engineer large project, line management)
- A system and conceptual thinker that can bridge concepts into pragmatic and evolutionary steps
- A change agent that owns the changes and is able to embed changes from ideas to implementation across the company.
- Comfortable to adapt to fast-paced engineering environments, comfortable with change, and maintain a positive outlook
- Excels in organizing resources efficiently across multiple engineering facilities and projects and implements structured processes
- Motivating leader that inspires the team, encourages growth and has a proactive attitude; emphatic, listening, enthusing, creating room for innovation/creativity, coaching & collaborating.
