Job mission:
Throughout the last few year T&D has grown over 50% in FTE. This enormous growth is of course due to our successes, but it also brings some challenges. In this challenging organization with multiple stakeholders and different internal and external customers we need to enforce an organization that will focus change management while maintaining to perform in our current big projects (total 600 FTE). These changes are towards professional competence and people management to make sure we create creative system thinking in each competence group and to create a great place to work for our highly skilled engineers.
Your activities and responsibilities:
As a Sr. Machine Control Group leader you strengthen our Development & Engineering team of about 450 FTE, managed by group leaders.
- Responsible for people management and career development activities including recruiting, onboarding, training, mentoring, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Responsible for leading a group of ~20-35 (mechatronic) engineers to perform conceptual design, analysis, and development of new products and innovative changes to existing products.
- Work with multiple engineering disciplines and co-developers to ensure timely realization of competitive, serviceable products that keep the semiconductor industry moving forward.
- Responsible for resource allocation and working with Project Leaders to anticipate program staffing and skillset needs.
- Owner of the machine control competence. Feel/act responsible for the projects need the competence, improve way of working and uphold the highest quality designs.
- Build, facilitate technical and group roadmaps, manage these (make it happen).
- Teach, educate and/or facilitate cumulative growth of the machine control competence and build knowledge retention.
- Lead continuous improvement projects to further improve the quality and efficiency of the organization.
- Behavioral coach: Introduce and coach system thinking in engineers, educate towards system architects
- Optimize internal processes, including allocations, and workflows for maximum productivity
- Prioritize quality in all engineering processes and uphold high standards of operational excellence
Required skills:
We are looking for a technical and people-oriented manager with a hands-on mentality and the ability to shape the strategy and development of the organization at a transcendent level.
- Proven Machine control experience as an engineer on academic level; asynchronous control, algorithms and state machines, logic control, interfacing and machine behavior.
- Proven affinity with motion control, (application) conditioning, software and system architecture
- Track record in group leader role (of engineers on an academic level >3 years
- A system and conceptual thinker that can bridge concepts into pragmatic and evolutionary steps
- A change agent that owns the changes and is able to embed changes from ideas to implementation across the company.
- Adapt to fast-paced engineering environments, comfortable with change, and maintain a positive outlook
- Excels in organizing resources efficiently across multiple engineering facilities and projects and implements structured processes
- Motivating leader that inspires the team, encourages growth and has a proactive attitude; emphatic, listening, enthusing, creating room for innovation/creativity, coaching & collaborating.
