THE ROLE
As the Project Quality Assurance Lead at Damen Naval, you will drive quality excellence in our naval shipbuilding projects. You will spearhead the Quality Assurance (QA) team assigned to the ASWF naval shipbuilding project. You will oversee, advise, and report on quality issues related to this high-profile project for Damen Naval and the naval sector. Your expertise in mechanical engineering will make a significant impact on our cutting-edge naval projects. Fluency in Dutch is essential, as the ASWF Frigates are built for the Dutch and Belgian Marine. Since the headquarters of Damen Naval is located in Vlissingen, you need to be willing to occasionally travel to that location.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Provide leadership to the Project Quality team.
Coordinate quality processes and promote a quality mindset in shipbuilding projects.
Ensure proper application of quality management principles, protocols, and processes.
Develop and maintain QA registration system processes.
Participate in project and department progress meetings.
Update project management on QA status and incident mitigation.
Liaise with the Government Quality Assurance Representative (GQAR) and provide all QA information.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
3+ years of experience in Quality Management, preferably acquired in the naval, defense or shipbuilding industry.
Experienced with manufacturing techniques and processes, preferably in the naval shipbuilding industry.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technical Business Administration, Shipbuilding or a relevant technical domain.
Good command of the Dutch and English language, both written and spoken.
Availability to occasionally visit the Vlissingen headquarter of Damen Naval.
