The role
As the Project Quality Assurance Lead at Damen Naval, you will be responsible for the execution and optimization of quality assurance (QA) processes and procedures for Damen Naval shipbuilding projects. You oversee, advise, and report about quality issues related to the project(s) you are assigned to. When an issue is identified, you Initiate root-cause analysis for quality deviations and update the overall quality policy and standards to prevent reoccurrence.
Key accountabilities
As the Project Quality Assurance Lead, your key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinates the quality processes and fosters a quality mindset in each shipbuilding project.
- Ensuring quality management principles, protocols, and processes are correctly applied.
- Leading the Project Quality team.
- Creating the QA registration system processes and ensuring it is kept complete and updated.
- Participating in project and department progress meetings.
- Updating project management about the quality assurance status and incident mitigations.
- Liaising with the Government Quality Assurance Representative (GQAR) and providing all QA information.
Skills & experience
To excel as a Project Quality Assurance Lead, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:
3+ years of experience in Quality Management, preferably acquired in the naval, defense or shipbuilding industry.
- Experienced with manufacturing techniques and processes, preferably in the naval shipbuilding industry.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technical Business Administration, Maritime Technology or Shipbuilding.
- Good command of the Dutch and English language, both written and spoken.
Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
- Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
