Chapter Lead Solution Architect

Financial Markets (FM) is the Bank's gateway to the professional markets around the world. Our primary function is to service the needs of ING's clients with products, services and guidance. FM aims to be a significant player in our market leader and challenger markets, with an additional presence in all the major international markets and specialist expertise in selected emerging markets and products.
The FMGT Tribe is the change delivery department of Financial Markets ('FM') and Group Treasury ('GT') that has as purpose to realize our clients' dreams by connecting them to global markets, providing financial solutions, and delivering long lasting value.
Your role
The Chapter Lead Solution architect strengthens the design and implementation quality of IT Systems, optimizing technology infrastructure, operational efficiency, scalability, reliability and security, ensuring seamless alignment between design and implementation and business and enterprise architecture. From a people leader point of view your role will be to coach or mentor your colleagues and ensure that the architecture practice inside FM is clearly understood and is up to the expectations.
Key Competencies
- Domain knowledge, good understanding of Financial Markets
- Strong in system design and integration.
Focusing on implementation details, following the architectural plan and release objectives. - Develop and maintain relevant architectural artifacts, including application architectures, data models and other relevant documentation
- Up to date with the latest technology trends, frameworks, patterns, concepts and languages.
- Good understanding of ING's technology standards and solutions.
- Foster reuse across the enterprise and ensure the developed solution will be exposed for future potential reuse
From a managerial/people leader point of view, you will:
- Ensure the individual development and craftmanship of your team members, so that they can successfully fulfil the new roles and the new process
- You help your team develop through coaching, mentoring and constant feedback;
- Together with your IT Area Lead and EA colleagues you set targets for each team member;
- You are responsible for HR related activities: 1 to 1 meetings with your team members, performance management, etc.
- You work with the recruitment team to attract, onboard and retain top talent
- Stimulate the chapter members towards continuous improvement of their skills and the area of expertise as a whole;
- Propagates a culture that fits with the agile way of working and is a role model;
- Determines, together with the Chapter members, the way of working in his/her chapter and sets standards for the area of expertise.
