This vacancy and the majority of the team members are based in Amsterdam. We are part of the ING's Wholesale Banking Tech Transaction Services organization.
The team
We are responsible for the design, modification and maintenance of the software solutions used to process receivables finance deals, supply chain finance deals, bank guarantees, trade loans, letters of credit and documentary collections. The team is currently focusing on accelerating the digitalization of the global customer journeys for Bank Guarantees, covering the development front-to-back and enabling straight-through processing via channels, backend services and other applications from our IT landscape. Our mission is to create fast, customer-centric solutions for our wholesale banking customers. Roles and responsibilities
As DevOps Engineer, you are a key player in the cooperation between engineers, product owners, customer journey experts and other stakeholders. Your main responsibilities in this position will involve:
- Design, implement, and maintain robust IT solutions with a primary emphasis on reliability and security.
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to maintain high-quality code and ensure that code aligns with product goals and industry standards.
- Ensure compliancy of the application following IT RISK standard processes.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or in another engineering domain combined with strong IT background.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of software engineering, back-end development using Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security and Spring Data JPA.), Java 17+ and Kotlin.
- Distributed systems running cloud-natively.
- Experience with adopting software architecture design best practices.
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality software products on time.
- Excellent communication skills in English, being able to elaborate, write and present ideas clearly at different levels of abstraction.
- Ability and willingness to communicate with stakeholders directly.
- Ability to challenge, influence and convince others through fact-based arguments.
- Ability to follow IT RISK processes and standard to maintain high quality compliancy and security.
Nice To Have -
- Hands on experience with RDBMS (we use Oracle).
- Front-end development in JavaScript and Lit-Element (web components).
- CI/CD & Backlog Management using Azure DevOps.
- Hands on experience with Docker and OpenShift.
- Monitoring & alerting using Grafana/Prometheus & ELK.
- Test automation with Junit, Karate/Cucumber, Gherkin and Gatling.

For these (groups) of employees ING have set up a Stand-by regulation. To compensate for the inconvenience of being available at this time, a Stand-by compensation is awarded.
- If you are designated by your lead for stand-by shifts to be available for incidents outside of your regular working hours, a Stand-by compensation is awarded.
