At Picnic, we’re revolutionising the way people buy groceries with our innovative and sustainable app-only service. We do almost everything in-house, developing cutting-edge technologies and processes to ensure we continue to grow rapidly without missing a beat. If you’re a passionate Developer Experience Coach we’re offering you the opportunity to join the diverse team at our Amsterdam HQ and make a real difference in our scale-up environment.
🥜 In a nutshell
Picnic has over 30 software development teams, each highly involved with and essential to all parts of the company. From enabling a smooth shopping experience, to ensuring we fulfil our customers’ orders efficiently in our warehouses, there’s a wide range of teams to work with. Product teams are independently running, and are supported by our platform teams on key technologies and infrastructure.
You’ll be an integral part of the Developer Excellence (DevEx) team, dedicated to enhancing the developer experience across Picnic by optimising the way of working, tooling, and automations in teams. Your role as a DevEx Coach will be pivotal in guiding Picnic teams through the change and adoption process. You will be responsible for making these changes stick, while also nurturing a culture of continuous improvement.
🎯 What you’ll do
- You’ll provide hands-on day to day coaching, mentoring, and training to teams and team leads to leverage DevEx principles (optimising for flow, increasing quality, creating feedback loops) to boost team effectiveness and developer satisfaction to help tackle their roadmaps more effectively.
- You’ll act as a DevEx and Agile expert in the team, championing the values and principles throughout the organisation, and promoting a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
- You’ll be assigned to one or multiple Picnic teams, supporting them in the adoption of standards and best practices across all aspects of the DevOps and Agile Software Development Lifecycle. From work planning, code review to incident management and more.
- You’ll collaborate with the DevEx team to identify areas for process improvement, to build and implement strategies that enhance developer productivity and effectiveness across Picnic.
- You’ll monitor key performance metrics and provide regular reports and insights to stakeholders, highlighting progress and areas for improvement.
