For our European Distribution Center in Amsterdam, we are looking for a Senior Global Quality and Compliance Specialist
The Sr. Global Quality and Compliance Specialist is responsible for managing assigned factories in all aspects of quality and compliance including but not limited to design, development, production, and end-customer quality, health, safety, environmental compliance, regulatory compliance, and restricted substances compliance.
Responsibilities/ Tasks:
- Manage and analyze data of key metrics and based on analysis, suggest next steps to Leadership via a Quality Report and presentation.
- Follow established quality process including creating Quality Investigation Presentation (QIP) suggesting next steps, and management of reworks/ repairs.
- Create monthly Report Cards for assigned factories.
- Request and maintain Bill of Materials and technical drawings from vendors.
- Assist internal business partners with quality and technical information requests.
- Responsible for ensuring the proper execution of assigned factory audits by in house and 3rd party auditors.
- Maintains compliance data (Factory Audit Status List) and completes reports on Eyewear LOB and licensor systems as required
- Monitor's divestment of current factories, including quarantine and destruction process of goods, and ensures factory is closed for new purchase orders on internal system.
- Ensures assigned factories are compliant with global standards including national and international standards for quality, tests, and procedures as well as additional standards as set forth by each licensor.
- Review assigned factories open PO report on a weekly basis to ensure all product placed is authorized to be produced; present data to Leadership as needed.
- Develop strategies to manage the risk proactively, engage management, and initiate actions to execute strategies; including partnering with legal and compliance, benchmarking competitors and related industries, and consulting with outside experts as
- needed for risk assessments
- Provide training to Marchon personnel as requested.
- Follow European regulations and advise management if it pertains to our product.
- Assist with China Customs requests.
- Follow the process to open and close vendors as required, working with Procurement and Sourcing.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience in global manufacturing and quality assurance or quality improvement management
- Fluent in English, second language is a plus
- Knowledge of optical industry practices and compliance standards is a plus
- Demonstrated understanding of quality management concepts and techniques
- Demonstrated ability to document, propose, negotiate and present approaches and solutions
- Strong conflict management skills
- Strong organization skills, detail oriented, problem-solving mindset and ability to multitask in a team environment
- Proven ability to effectively communicate information to a wide variety of technical and non-technical individuals or groups at all levels of the organization
- Strong analytical capabilities
- Flexible and able to change priorities and direction quickly and effectively
- Travel domestic and international may be required
- Regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment the in performance of his/her job duties
