De Stadskalender, originating from the Danish company Bykalender, is a unique marketing tool designed for local businesses. Bykalender was established back in 2017 in Aarhus, Denmark. Since then we have expanded to 31 cities in Denmark, Germany, and Norway. The product takes the form of a physical advent calendar filled with gifts and surprises from carefully selected local businesses. Not only does it provide a delightful experience for customers and contributes to strengthening the local business life, but it also contributes to local charitable causes, with a percentage of the revenue dedicated to support community initiatives.
Tasks
We are currently seeking dynamic and self-motivated people with local network and knowledge to kickstart the expansion of our advent calendars into the Dutch market. As the representative of your city's local advent calendar, you will be the public face and responsible for the calendar. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to become a partner and get the rights to the calendar from the second year.
Your primary tasks in year one will be:
1. Negotiating agreements with 25 local business partners for inclusion in the advent calendar.
2. Identifying and collaborating with a local artist to design an appealing cover for the calendar.
3. Identifying and supporting a local charitable cause to benefit from the sale of the calendars.
4. Negotiate agreements with local supermarkets and retailers interested in selling the calendar during the sales period.
5. Be responsible for marketing and sales during the sales period.
Requirements
We are looking for individuals who possess the following qualities:
1. Ability to work independently and thrive in a role with freedom under responsibility.
2. Trustworthy and hardworking with a strong work ethic.
3. Flexibility and a proactive approach to taking initiative.
The employment starts as soon as you are ready and the job is freelance based in the spring. In the months from October to December, you will be busy with sales, marketing and execution.
While previous experience in sales and customer relations is advantageous, we value personality over specific job titles. Our belief is that the right candidate will be genuine and sincere in forming partnerships. We provide the necessary guidance and support to ensure success in this role.
