Your passion lies in the engineering and application of technical systems on board the yachts under construction. You create a coordinated, integrated, high-quality and timely elaboration of the final design. You don't have to do this alone, but together with your fellow engineers whom you provide functional leadership. Your team takes care of, among other things, the detailed engineering and 3D models.
Tasks
As a (Senior) Mechanical Engineer you specify, standardize and think about the cost-effective and space-efficient application of mechanical engineering systems. You guide your co-builders in implementing the systems into a well-functioning yacht. You
work in a multidisciplinary setting with the disciplines of interior, construction, exterior and special engineering. In addition, based on your expertise, you have an advisory role in the mechanical engineering aspects of the engineering, taking into account the applicable regulations and quality requirements.
Your work includes:
- Making a technical assessment regarding the manufacturability and feasibility of the
yacht to be built in consultation with other disciplines; - Providing support to the Lead Engineer and Project Manager Engineering (PME) in
establishing the scope and planning; - Identifying technical bottlenecks and proposing possible (interdisciplinary) solutions and arguments to substantiate choices.
Requirements
As a Senior Engineer you are involved in onboarding new colleagues, improving quality standards and building knowledge and innovation within your field. You contribute to the development of the department and thus the organization as a whole. You are someone with a passion for what you do who continuously thinks about how you want to devise, build and deliver the best and most beautiful yacht again. You are customer- and service-oriented and involve the various disciplines, the project team and the customer team in the process to turn it into a superyacht.
In addition, you preferably have:
- Minimum Bsc work/thinking level and experience with different parts of the construction process in ship/yacht building;
- Knowledge of production techniques and experience with manufacturability of parts to be engineered is important;
- Moreover, knowledge of relevant regulations such as Lloyd's, Solas and the Large Yacht Code is an advantage.
