The role
As the Manager Technology & Innovation in Ship Maintenance you will drive the development and innovation of our product lifecycle support services portfolio empowering our naval solutions. You operate at the intersection of technology development and commercial development, leading the way to improved ship operations as well as increasing the availability and reliability of Damen Naval products.
Key accountabilities
As the Manager Technology & Innovation in Ship Maintenance, your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing a strategic vision for data-driven maintenance and crew training, aligning with the company's goals for ship lifecycle support and training services.
- Acting as line manager for a team of Data Scientists and Solution Architects and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders from Engineering, Operations, Services and Proposals to implement innovations in the business.
- Managing knowledge, resources, budgets, and priorities for the Data Scientist and Solution Architect teams to ensure projects are adequately resourced and cost-effective.
- Developing and tracking key performance indicators for the Data Scientist and Solution Architect teams, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
- Stays abreast with industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement in ship training, maintenance, and other Lifecycle Product Support services.
- Collaborating with vendors, research partners, customers, and technology providers to leverage external expertise and resources.
Skills & experience
As the Manager Technology & Innovation in Ship Maintenance, you possess the following qualifications and qualities:
- 3+ years of experience driving innovations in the maintenance, repair, and logistic support processes in the maritime and/or offshore sector.
- Knowledge of data ethics, compliance, security
- Master of bachelor’s degree in a technical study (preferably shipbuilding or mechanical engineering).
- Good command of the Dutch and English language both written and verbal.
- Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
- Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
