Job Purpose:
Your role is to develop and maintain an efficient, professional, and proactive claims management organization. You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of 10 dedicated claims specialist who process claims on behalf of multiple DHL Business partners from the Benelux region, including recovery claims from liable DHL subcontractors, and safeguard DHL's P&L exposure.
Key Tasks:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of claims specialists, fostering a professional, efficient, and proactive work environment.
- Develop and implement a local strategy aligned with the regional strategy to meet financial goals and support Business Partner success.
- Continuously seek ways to improve team performance and resource allocation.
- Oversee the entire claims process, ensuring efficient and standardized handling procedures across different countries and divisions.
- Manage escalated claims, negotiating with external parties such as customers, subcontractors, carriers, insurers, loss adjusters, and underwriters.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with key internal stakeholders, including executives, directors, managers, and functional leaders.
- Provide advice to business partners based on claims data to optimize their internal processes related to risk and claims handling.
- Proactively identify trends, raise awareness of risks, and communicate critical claims to top management through structured reporting and frequent Business Review Meetings.
- Collaborate with other relevant departments to identify and develop claims limitation and recovery opportunities from subcontractors, minimizing P&L exposure.

Your Profile:
- Experience operating in a similar management role within a matrix organization, demonstrating cross-border collaboration and influencing skills.
- 5+ years in progressive leadership and high-level management positions, with a focus on building and developing teams.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills, with a track record of managing and mentoring a team of claims specialists.
- Thorough understanding of industry regulations and compliance requirements, particularly in logistics and claims handling.
- Diplomatic approach with persuasive and determined negotiation abilities to manage escalated claims and external party negotiations.
- Strong analytical, financial, and legal competencies, with the ability to proactively identify trends and risks.
- Problem-solving and business acumen skills to optimize internal processes related to risk and claims handling.
- Project-oriented with the ability to prioritize short and medium-term objectives, leading dedicated projects related to process standardization, performance improvements, and CMS software implementation.
