As System Development Support Engineer you act as the technical expert who supports the system owners for i.e. Thermal Measures or engine + SCR integration
Tasks & Responsibilities
▪ For heavy duty diesel, hydrogen engines and hybrid applications, act as the technical expert
who supports the system owners for i.e. Thermal Measures or engine + SCR integration:
▪ Definition and setting up system level requirements related to emissions and performance for
these systems;
▪ Setting up FMEA and specifying the impact of the new content on the system related
requirements for various systems;
▪ Taking the lead in root cause analysis and resolution process of (field) issues and deliver
improvement proposal;
▪ Creating and executing the risk mitigation plan, following up alternative data to build off risk
and test case status.
▪ Coordinate and monitor timing and quality of all deliverables related to the system under
development.
Your profile
▪ Master degree in Automotive Technology or Mechanical Engineering;
▪ 5+ years of experience in domain knowledge of engine out emissions, SCR systems and
necessary integration between these two;
▪ Experience with system level engineering in a complex product design environment;
▪ Excellent technical know-how, structured problem solving and ability to get to the core of
issues efficiently and pragmatically;
▪ Experience in leading a team of technical experts and system level engineering (presenting,
planning, technology roadmap, tech lead, stakeholder management, …);
▪ Six Sigma Experience is a pre i.e. setting up an FMEA, DMAIC, fishbone, boundary and P-diagram, fault tree analysis;
▪ DNG and Plato tool knowledge is a pre;
▪ Good English skills are mandatory;
▪ Initiative, continuous improvement of engine emission and performance;
▪ Cooperation, bringing engineers from different disciplines together;
▪ Result orientation, good planning and deliver on time;
▪ Analytical capacity, combine information from different sources;
▪ Clear communication, verbally, in writing, and presenting on PM level;
▪ Perseverance, find solutions to complex persisting problems.
