Delivering eye-catching projects in the field of water and maritime in multidisciplinary teams with enthusiastic and highly qualified colleagues - that is what you do as our new medior port engineer, specialised in mooring design and moored ship behaviour. At a world-renowned international engineering consultancy firm that globally ranks number 3 in ENR's Maritime Consultancy list. So, if you have a strong affinity with the safe mooring of ships in ports, please join our team and develop your career as a specialist in mooring design and moored ship behaviour.
What you will do as an expert in the safe mooring of ships in ports
As an expert, you contribute to specialised projects where understanding the behaviour of moored ships in ports, subjected to wind, waves, current, or passing vessels, is essential for the development of the port. Metocean assessments, mooring and fender design, moored ship response analysis, numerical modelling, and expert judgment advice are all crucial elements in your contribution to our exciting projects. You will also contribute to automatization, standardisation and visualisation of the numerical modelling of the moored ship behaviour. The numerical modelling of moored ship behaviour in port engineering is called a Dynamic Mooring Analysis.
Besides this, you will play an important role in our highly innovative digital product, 'Smart Mooring'- our digital Twin of the ship-shore environment that connects all kinds of (metocean) dataflows to provide predictive and actionable insights for safe loading and offloading operations in a port.
In this role, you manage and carry responsibility for the following:
- Defining the technical approach, planning, and budgeting in the preparation phase of the project.
- Project execution, including technical assessments (mooring and fender design, Dynamic Mooring Analysis), reporting, data management, tooling (in Python), and quality assurance.
- Contributing to existing and new innovative (digital) developments in relation to ship mooring
- The presentation of content and results in both external and internal arenas
- Support business development through your external and internal network and support in the preparation of proposals
- Transferring knowledge to junior staff and our team in Vietnam and guiding them in projects

We build long-lasting relationships and inspire the people around us.
We have a team of 10 highly qualified experts working in the fields of mooring and fender design, dynamic mooring analysis, and port engineering. You will be joining this ambitious and energetic team that contributes to the safe mooring and safe/efficient operations of moored vessels in ports all over the globe and working on studies of mooring configurations. Through these, we have possibilities to enable higher throughputs in ports and/or ensure safer mooring.
