While we have always excelled at designing products which offer excellent value for money, Decathlon is in a transition to focus less on products and more on the customer that buys them. We need to rely less on our 21 stores for our sales and more on online and omnichannel. To not only push the sale of new products but to offer circular services such as Repair, Buyback and Rental. To win not just in large destination stores on the outskirts of the city, but to be present in city centers.
To drive this transition, we are looking for an interim Chief of Staff who wants to push progress on our strategy at a pivotal time for our organization. Working closely with our CEO and as a member of our executive team, you will help shape Decathlon NL's trajectory by guiding strategic planning, key strategic projects, change management, and team development as you lead our Transformation Office. Your ResponsibilitiesStrategy Creation
Work closely with the CEO and executive team to create and refine Decathlon Netherlands' long-term strategy, including our Strategy 2030 roadmap
Manage high-priority strategic projects ensuring we have a compelling vision and deliver outcomes
Lead the development and first part of the execution of our 2026-2028 Strategic Routine, ensuring alignment and clarity across leadership
Contribute to E-commerce, Circular, and Omni-channel Steering Committees, providing insights and helping shape cross-functional alignment
Business Steering
Lead efforts to improve our monthly and quarterly steering processes together with our PMOs
Change Management
Support change initiatives for customer-centric growth: we want to promote multidisciplinary collaboration across teams
Co-organize our "60 Leaders" events scheduled for April and June, aligning leadership with Decathlon's transformation goals and inspiring a shared vision
Team Management
Act as a coach to team members within the Transformation Office who report to you, helping them achieve their full potential. Team members include a senior PMO, junior PMO & Strategic Project Leader. You will also work very closely with our internal communications lead
Team building: establish a sense of team - both in terms of team routines and fun
What we ask from you
Qualifications
Available from the 2nd of January until the 31st of July
Experience: minimum of 8 years in strategy, business management, and change management roles, with a minimum 2 years of experience as a hierarchical manager
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or related field (MBA preferred).
Skills
Versatile professional, agile and autonomous, capable of quickly understanding complex and diverse business challenges and formulating recommendations for the leader
Excellent interpersonal skills
A strong ability to influence, advise and push back to drive the management agenda
You have proven experience with managing multidisciplinary collaboration and digital transformation
Excellent written and verbal communication in Dutch and English, French is a plus
