About this work area
As Unit Food Operations Manager your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:• Drive the Food department within our Sydney Distribution Centre, to provide a seamless food offer to our co-workers, onsite visitors, and contractors.
• Lead and coach the operations team in optimising and developing the IKEA Food business by securing the IKEA brand position, strategies, legal compliance, and people & planet positive in all IKEA touchpoints.
• Manage the recruitment, retention, performance management, succession planning and competence development of your team.
• Secure processes and procedures to ensure quality of food, food safety, excellence in operations and reduce waste.
• Implement global and national compliance standards, managing the food supply chain and range competence within the department.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, including inventory management and ordering of supplies.
• Secure an irresistible food offer by designing menus, ensuring quality and an appealing range presentation.
As Unit Food Operations Manager you are or have:
• Passionate about creating an unforgettable dining experience through your love for food, the products and service delivery.
• An experienced and inspirational leader who can bring out the best in your team and have an inherent nature to develop and nurture growth in people.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience communicating across all levels of the business and internal/external stakeholder management.
• Great attention to detail to ensure a high standard of work is produced with prior experience in managing costs, budgets, and resources/rosters.
• Knowledge of food safety and HACCP guidelines with excellent awareness of food safety, hygiene, WHS & manual handing standards is required.
