In a nutshell
As a Service Desk Engineer, you will be responsible for providing direct user support and workplace assistance to users of IT resources. You will manage tasks related to applications and systems to ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements and other contractual commitments. In this role, you will report to the IT Infrastructure Manager and collaborate closely with fellow Service Desk engineers and the ICT department.
How can you help us?
The Service Desk Engineer is expected to align with the overall strategy of Eurofins Clinical Diagnostics, proactively fostering internal and external collaboration. In this role, you will act as the primary point of contact for users regarding IT-related issues, providing support for workplace setups and assisting users with workplace-related queries. All user-reported IT issues will be logged in the Service Management Tool, with appropriate categorisation based on urgency.
You will diagnose and resolve first-line IT problems and, when possible, address second-line issues, ensuring that users are kept informed throughout the process. In addition, you will play a key part in developing user manuals and work instructions, offering training and guidance on the use of our systems and applications.
Part of your responsibilities includes testing, installing, and implementing new versions and functionalities of applications and systems, as well as performing tasks related to configuration, version control, and authorisation management.
Furthermore, you will actively contribute to process improvement by keeping procedures and work instructions up to date. Recurring issues will be identified and reported to the IT Infrastructure Manager for further action. You will support management reporting in accordance with company guidelines and assist in onboarding new employees by introducing them to departmental workflows and processes. It is essential that you adhere to the quality systems based on NEN 7510, ISO 15189, and ISO 14001 standards. In this role, you will be expected to handle personal and health-related data responsibly and securely.
Qualifications
The following qualities are essential to excel in this role:
- An MBO (secondary vocational education) level of work and thinking, with proven experience in IT Service Desk or IT Support roles
- Verbal and written proficiency in both Dutch and English
- Experience with IT service methodologies such as ITIL, ASL, BISL, Prince2, Agile, or Scrum
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- A detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality IT service
- Strong organisational skills, the ability to plan and prioritise tasks effectively, and a customer-centric approach
- Initiative-driven and results-oriented, while maintaining strong collaborative relationships with your team
You will play a key role in maintaining and improving the IT services provided to our users, ensuring smooth and effective operations across the organisation as a whole.
