MHP Americas Inc. Is seeking an organized and driven person to join our growing team. In this role, the candidate will assist in the accounting and finance processes and act as a backup for order management processes. This role will work closely with our Head of Finance and operations personnel. We’re an energetic company and are looking for a passionate individual to join our organization.
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day general ledger accounting, including journal entry preparation and related reporting in the areas of Bank/Cash, Prepaids, Accruals, Payroll, Benefits, and Intercompany / Related Party processes.
- Maintenance of Accounts Receivable SL and reconciliation to GL. Including but not limited to AR management, collection, application of funds receipt etc.
- Fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and reporting
- Monthly accrual accounting
- Bank entries (i.e. Transfers, payments, receipts) and bank account reconciliations.
- Maintain daily and monthly cashflow file.
- Assist in the monthly accounting close procedures including proper period end cut-off and adherence to accounting close schedule.
- Preparation of monthly flux analysis
- Assist in monthly reporting to the Group Accounting
- Preparation of monthly balance sheet accounts reconciliation
- Support in the monthly contract or performance-related invoicing of projects
- Close cooperation with Finance & Administration Germany
- Back up for accounts payable and vendor payment subsidiary ledger incl. The post of invoices, coding and posting of travel expense, reconciling corporate credit card statement.
- Backs up Order Management Accountant
- Back up for Intercompany Accounting and Reconciliation, as needed.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects and reporting.
- Promote the continuous improvement process within the division and participate in internal projects.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (concentration in Accounting) preferred
Experience:
- 3-5 years of accounting experience (General Ledger, AR, AP, Cash Management)
- Experience working in an international and cross-cultural environment
- Big Four accounting experience is strongly preferred
- Project accounting experience preferred
Experience with SAP/R3 (FI) required
- Experience with SAP BW, SAP CRM preferred
- Basic knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS Accounting, and US Tax
- Strong PC skills with knowledge of Excel
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to proactively seek solutions for the open items
- Must possess a strong work ethic and be deadline-driven
- Very good verbal and written communication skills
Physical requirements:
- This job operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, cameras, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to talk, hear, walk, sit, stand, climb stairs on occasion with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to effectively work and complete tasks in an open office/noisy environment.
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time while traveling in a car or airplane.
