Galerie Neu is looking for a full-time Gallery Assistant as of September 2024 to support gallery staff on all aspects of daily operations, administration, and exhibitions.

Work Environment
Galerie Neu was founded in 1994 in Berlin's Mitte district. Initially the focus was on Berlin's young and dynamic art scene; Neu exhibited then-emerging artists such as Kai Althoff, Tom Burr, Manfred Pernice and Josephine Pryde, all of whom continue to show with the gallery and have gone on to gain international recognition. Since the late 1990s Neu continues to broaden the scope of its activities and now represents over 30 artists. The gallery's artists have been included in international review exhibitions and biennials, as well as frequently selected for international institutional shows. The gallery regularly participates in major art fairs.
The gallery assistant will work within a small and dynamic team and report to all team members.
Responsibilities
• Meeting and greeting visitors, press and clients in the gallery
• Ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the gallery (maintenance of gallery buildings, IT and telephone systems, stationery and office supplies, etc.)
• Updating of artists' database, biographies, portfolios, and bibliographies
• Ensuring content of gallery website and database are up to date and accurate including up-
load/download of images, artwork details and client information
• Providing administrative and operational support to the team
• Assisting in the planning and production of exhibitions
• Assisting in gallery communication, including newsletter and social media
Requirements
• Interest in contemporary art, work experience in the field desirable
• Excellent communication skills in German and English - other languages are desirable •
• High degree of motivation, hands-on-initiative and responsibility, paired with excellent com-
munication and organizational skills
• Ability to support team members and artists in all areas of production, exhibition and promo-
tion of artwork
• Ability to perform under pressure, flexibility and availability to travel
• Ability to work with precision and high level of enthusiasm, both independently and as part of
a team
• Proficiency with Mac operating systems, Microsoft suite, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
• Experience with content management systems such as Artbutler and Artlogic
